Questions parents ask
If yours isn’t here, just text or email me — I’m happy to answer.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes. That’s long enough to review, teach something new, and practice it before we finish.
How often should we meet?
Weekly is typical, and it’s where I see the most progress. Some families add a second session before a big test or final.
Do I have to commit to a set number of sessions?
No. It’s flexible and built around what your student needs, though I strongly recommend meeting weekly.
Do you tutor online or in my home?
Both. I travel to homes within about 15 miles of Hugo, and I tutor online from anywhere at the same rate.
What grades and levels do you teach?
Elementary, middle school, high school, and college, plus adult learners — from foundational vocabulary through advanced academic Spanish, including test-out exam prep.
What towns do you serve?
I travel to homes within about 15 miles of Hugo, which covers White Bear Lake, Lino Lakes, Forest Lake, Centerville, North Oaks, Mahtomedi, Vadnais Heights, Shoreview, and Stillwater. Online sessions are open to anyone.
Do you tutor homeschool students?
Yes. I can work alongside the curriculum you’re already using or help you build one.
Do you offer small groups?
Yes — 2 to 4 students at $40 per student per hour. Siblings, classmates, friend groups, and homeschool co-ops all work well.
Do you tutor adults?
Yes, at the same $60 hourly rate, whether that’s for work, travel, or your own interest.
Do you help with homework and test prep?
Yes. Lessons are targeted for homework, projects, and exams, while still building the underlying skills the student needs long term.
How do I pay?
$60 per session, by Venmo, check, or cash.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
